World Championships Profiles: Become Familiar with Some of the Top Athletes in Swimming
Over the past couple of weeks, in the leadup to the World Championships in Singapore, Swimming World has rolled out a series of mini profiles on medal contenders. The athletes featured have represented a wide range of countries, with some pieces featuring likely medalists and others highlighting individuals fighting for a place on the podium. Additionally, the series has profiled veterans and rising stars.
The World Championships are scheduled to begin on Sunday and run for eight days. This year marks the fifth time the World Aquatics competition has been held in Asia, as Singapore joins Fukuoka (2001/2023), Shanghai (2011) and Gwangju (2019) as a host. Beijing will serve as the host in 2029.
Here is our complete list of profiles, along with links to the individual articles. We hope these short pieces provide our readership with a look at the past accomplishments of top swimmers, as well as provide a summary of how the athletes have fared en route to the biggest meet of the summer.
