UCLA Secures 2028 Verbal Pledge From Junior National Finalist Eryn Arnold
NEW COMMIT: The University of California, Los Angeles has picked up a new verbal commitment for Fall 2028 from in-state standout Eryn Arnold out of El Segundo, Calif. Arnold is a U.S. Open qualifier who excels in free, fly and IM.
She will join Heba Fouitah in Los Angeles as a member of the Bruins’ Class of 2032.
Regarding her commitment, she said:

Arnold, who does her club swimming with Beach Cities Alpha, placed sixth in the 100m fly, eighth in the 200m fly, 10th in the 50m fly and 12th in the 200m IM at Junior Nationals this past summer. That was after she raced to 11th in the 200m fly and 23rd in the 100m fly at Summer Nationals.
Last winter, Arnold finished fifth in the 200 fly and 12th in the 100 fly at Juniors West before going on to earn silver in the 200 fly at Oceanside Speedo Sectionals, where she also placed fifth in the 400 IM and sixth in the 200 IM.
Her best times include:
- 50 fly – 24.88
- 100 fly – 53.25
- 200 fly – 1:57.17
- 200 IM – 1:59.77
- 400 IM – 4:17.35
- 100 free – 51.35
Currently a junior at El Segundo High School, Arnold won the 100 fly and 200 IM at the 2026 CIF Southern Section Division II Championships. She is a NISCA All-American, too.
UCLA placed seventh at the 2026 Big Ten Championships.
Arnold’s best times in several events would’ve ranked in the top three of UCLA’s roster last year: first in the 200 fly, second in the 200 IM, and third in the 100 fly and 400 IM. She would’ve scored in the A-final of the 200 fly and the C-final of the 200 IM at last year’s conference meet.
