Sandpipers of Nevada’s Toby Esposito Verbals to NC State for 2028
NEW COMMIT: NC State University has recorded a new verbal commitment for the 2028-29 season and beyond from Toby Esposito of Henderson, Nevada. Esposito is a Junior National qualifier who excels in freestyle. He is also a member of the Czech Junior National Team.
He will join Phillip Johnson and Jaden Mills in Raleigh as a member of the Wolfpack’s Class of 2032.
Regarding his commitment, he said:
“Some dreams don’t arrive with fireworks. They arrive at 5am. In thousands of flip turns no one remembers. The next chapter starts at NC State. Thank you to my coaches, my family and friends for always supporting and believing in me. Excited to join the Pack”
Esposito trains year-round with Sandpipers of Nevada and most recently competed at Sacramento Futures where he placed fifth in the 400m free and ninth in the 200m free. That was after he earned silver in the 400m free and bronze in the 200m free, as well as placed fourth in the 1500m free and ninth in the 800m free, at NCSA Summer Championships.
Last winter, Esposito finished 13th in the mile at Juniors West before being the runner-up in the 1000 free at Walnut Speedo Sectionals. He also took sixth in the 1500m free and 14th in the 400m free at Westmont TYR Pro Swim Series.
His best times include:
- 200 free – 1:37.82
- 500 free – 4:23.47
- 1000 free – 9:10.48
- 1650 free – 15:18.62
Currently a junior at Coronado High School, Esposito secured silver in both the 200 free and 500 free at the 2025 Nevada 3A State Championships. He helped his 4×100 free relay team win the state title.
NC State finished sixth at the 2026 NCAA Championships after placing third at the 2026 Atlantic Coast Conference Championships.
