Ryan Lochte Joins Missouri State as Assistant Swimming Coach

Olympic gold medalist Ryan Lochte was hired as an assistant swimming coach at Missouri State.

Missouri State swimming made the announcement on social media on Sunday, May 10, and Lochte did as well.

“After spending half of my life staring at the black line at the bottom of a pool, I figured it was time to help the next generation do the same thing,” Ryan Lochte said in his video post. “Swimming gave me an incredible career, memories and things I will cherish. But I might be more passionate about coaching than competing. … I had a pretty good swim career, but I might be an even better swim coach. I traded in my goggles for a stopwatch. … I am beyond excited to work with the athletes at Missouri State alongside coach Dave Collins in helping these swimmers both in and out of the pool, creating unforgettable memories along the way.”
