NEW COMMIT: Miami University Ohio has scored their third verbal commitment for the 2022-23 season and beyond from Futures qualifier Caitlin Horn of Huntersville, N.C.

She will join Brooke-Lynn Clark and Audrey Conley as a member of the RedHawks’ Class of 2026.

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“I am stoked to announce my verbal commitment to continue my swimming and academic career at Miami University of Ohio! I want to give a huge thanks to all of my friends, family, and coaches who have helped me get to where I am today. I can’t wait to be a Redhawk!”

Horn, who does her club swimming with SwimMAC Carolina, earned three best times at the NC 18&U Championships in December where she placed ninth in the 50 free and 11th in the 100 free. Last winter, she finaled in four events at North Carolina Seniors and sprinted to 12th in the 50m free at Cary Sectionals.

In Summer 2019, she had a pair of top-18 finishes at North Carolina LCM Seniors before going on to race three events at Greensboro Futures.

Her best times include:

  • 50 free – 23.80
  • 100 free – 51.27
  • 200 free – 1:53.32
  • 100 breast – 1:06.04
  • 200 breast – 2:26.94
  • 200 IM – 2:09.36
  • 100 fly – 59.82

Currently a junior at Cox Mill High School, Horn is a six-time individual North Carolina 3A State Championship finalist. She placed third in the 50 free and fourth in the 100 free in 2020 while taking third and sixth, respectively, in those events during her sophomore season.

Even with 1.5 years to go before suiting up for the RedHawks in the fall of 2022, Horn will make an immediate impact individually and on relays. She would’ve scored in the B-final of the 100 free at the 2020 MAC Championships where Miami Ohio finished fourth overall in the team standings.
