NEW COMMIT: The University of Tennessee has received their third early verbal commitment for the fall of 2022 from Junior National qualifier Camille DeBoer of Gainesville, Fla.

She will become the second NCAA DI swimmer in her family as her older sister, Adrianna DeBoer, is currently a senior breaststroker at Florida.

DeBoer will also join Julia Burroughs and Regan Rathwell of Ashton, Ontario as a member of the Lady Vols’ Class of 2026.

She told Swimming World:

“I am tickled orange to announce my commitment to swim for the University of Tennessee!!! I am truly blessed to have such an incredible and supportive family and coaches. This is such an amazing opportunity and I am still in awe that I get to call myself a lady Vol! 🧡🤍”

A talented freestyler and IMer, DeBoer trains year-round with Gator Swim Club and earned five best times at the Florida OT Qualifier in February after posting five top-5 finishes at the Gator Invitational last December. In Summer 2019, she finaled in two events at Gainesville Sectionals before going on to win the 800m/1500m free combo at Florida LCM Seniors.

Her best times include:

  • 100 Free – 51.86
  • 200 Free – 1:50.35
  • 500 Free – 4:50.21
  • 200 IM – 2:07.21
  • 400 IM – 4:25.80

Currently a junior at F.W. Buchholz High School, DeBoer is a four-time individual Florida 4A State Championship finalist. She placed third in the 500 free and sixth in the 200 free as a junior while taking third in the 500 free and 12th in the 200 IM during her sophomore season.

When she arrives on campus at the start of the 2022-23 season, DeBoer will add her talents to training groups led by Trude Rothrock, Kristen Stege, and a stellar Lady Vols’ Class of 2025. Under head coach Matt Kredich, Tennessee clinched their first-ever SEC title in program history last season.
