Junior National Qualifier Isaac Yeung Sends 2027 Verbal to Army West Point
NEW COMMIT: The United States Military Academy at West Point has secured a new verbal commitment for the 2027-28 season and beyond from Isaac Yeung of Bellevue, Washington. Yeung is a Junior National qualifier who excels in freestyle.
He will join Beau Joens and Kohlston Katz in West Point as a member of the Black Knights’ Class of 2031.
Regarding his commitment, he said:
“I am extremely excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at West Point! I would like to express my gratitude to all my friends, family, and coaches for their support and guidance through this journey. Finally, I would like to give my thanks to Coach Hannah, Ryan, and the rest of the staff at West Point for entrusting me with this amazing opportunity. Go Army–Beat Navy!”
Yeung does his club swimming with Seattle Metropolitan Aquatic Club. He earned two best times at Juniors West back in December before going on to win the B-final of the 200 free at Washington Seniors a week later. Last summer, he won the 800m free at Pacific Northwest Seniors and took eighth in that event at Sacramento Futures.
His best times include:
- 200 free – 1:41.29
- 500 free – 4:29.74
- 1650 free – 15:41.89
- 200 fly – 1:50.57
Currently a junior at Bellevue High School, Yeung earned silver in the 500 free and bronze in the 200 free at the 2026 Washington 3A State Championships. He finished fourth and third, respectively, in those events at the state meet during his sophomore season.
The Black Knights are coming off a second-place finish at the 2026 Patriot League Championships where they produced seven All-Patriot League selections and the Men’s Swimmer of the Meet in Johnny Crush. Army set two program records and three meet records at the conference championship.
Army named Scott Thacker as the new Director of Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving on June 8.
