Fordham Prep’s Nicholas Torres (23.32), Jack Kelly (25.81), Jared Copeland (23.02) and Timothy Norris (21.22) began the meet by winning the opening 4×50 medley relay in 1:33.37, only inches off the state mark of 1:33.32. Great Neck South (1:34.18) and Niskayuna (1:35.71) finished second and third, respectively.

Garden City’s Jake Newmark cruised to first in the 200 free, stopping the clock in 1:38.15 to win by just over a full second. Saint Anthony’s William Swartwout also broke the 1:40 barrier in 1:39.21 for second while Comsewogue’s Jake Vecchio placed third in 1:41.70.

Future Cal Golden Bear Louser dominated the 200 IM, winning by nearly five seconds as the only swimmer to crack the 1:50 mark. His final time of 1:47.98 was just off the 1:46.00 he swam in prelims to crush Hauppauge’s Justin Plaschka’s state record of 1:47.83 set back in 2014. Great Neck South’s Justin Whang (1:52.43) was second and Shenendehowa’s Kaleb Hotaling (1:53.46) was third.

Great Neck South’s Andy Lee splashed-and-dashed his way to the wall in the 50 free, winning with a quick 20.60. Right behind him was New Paltz’s Leo Kuyl who took a close second in 20.63 while Saint Anthony’s Justin Meyn raced to third in 20.87.

Bloomfield’s Alex Kenyon dove to first on the 1-meter board, finishing with a final score of 541.55 for the win. Fox Lane’s Reid Gerken placed second with 524.85 points and Peekskill’s Ioannais Schattman dove to third with a total score of 519.00.

Shortly after winning the 50 free, Lee was back in the water to claim his second individual gold by winning the 100 fly in 48.13. He was well ahead of the field as Long Beach’s Ryan Aroesty flew to second in 49.70 and Torres finished third with a time of 49.74.

After taking third in the 50 free, Meyn redeemed himself by racing to the wall in 45.40 to claim the 100 free state title. Kuyl (45.48) and New Rochelle Bronxville’s Timothy Cushman (45.86) completed the top three podium finishers.

Newmark added the 500 free gold medal to his hardware collection after also claiming the 200 free win, powering home in 4:27.10. Second place went to Mount Sinai’s Brendan Williams in 4:30.22 while Bellmore-Merrick’s Ryan Murray took third in 4:32.32.

Saint Anthony’s Mark Owens (21.10), Christopher Stange (21.89), Swartwout (20.87) and Meyn (20.51) combined to win the 4×50 free relay in 1:24.37, eclipsing the previous state record of 1:24.54 set by Clarence in 2010. Niskayuna was second in 1:25.56 and Fordham Prep took third in 1:25.96.

Hauppauge’s Trenton Burr powered home to a win in the 100 back, touching the wall in 50.30 for the win. A time of 50.53 was fast enough for Torres to secure the runner-up spot while Jamesville DeWitt’s Christopher Bushnell took third in 51.34.

Louser stole the show in the 100 breast, getting his hands to the wall in 53.94 for his second first-place finish of the day. His final time broke the state record of 54.51 set by Gunther Cassell in 2015. Dansville’s Aidan Kreiley (55.72) and Levittown-Meadow’s Justen Lopez (56.64) joined Louser on the podium.

Saint Anthony’s Meyn (45.60), Strange (47.94), Dylan Champagne (47.61) and Swartwout (45.34) ended the meet with a ban by winning the 4×100 free relay in 3:06.49 to break New Rochelle Bronxville’s mark of 3:06.61 set last year. Shenendehowa was second in 3:08.93 and Niskayuna was third in 3:09.16.
