Florida State Scores 2027 Verbal From European Junior Qualifier Thea Bergström
NEW COMMIT: Florida State University has secured a new verbal commitment for Fall 2027 from Thea Bergström. Bergström hails from Stockholm, Sweden, and is a sprint freestyler.
Regarding her commitment, she said:
“I am so excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my athletic and academic career at Florida State University! A big thanks to my coaches and my parents for supporting me and making all of this possible. I would also like to thank Coach Neal and the rest of the FSU staff for giving me this opportunity! GO NOLES!!”
Bergström currently trains with Helsingborgs Simsällskap, formerly swimming for Solna Sundbyberg SS 04.
At the 2025 European Junior Championships, Bergström placed 34th in the 50m free, 45th in the 100m free, 48th in the 200m free and 59th in the 50m fly. She raced to 49th in the 50m fly, 55th in the 50m free and 56th in the 100m free at the 2024 European Junior Championships.
In meters (LCM/SCM), her best times include:
- 50m free – 26.29/25.54
- 100m free – 57.25/56.04
- 200m free – 2:07.10/2:04.71
In SCY, those times convert to:
- 50 free – 22.92
- 100 free – 50.27
- 200 free – 1:51.39
Florida State placed 10th at the 2026 Atlantic Coast Conference Championships.
