European Junior Semifinalist Maari Randvali Verbally Commits to Michigan for 2027

European Junior Semifinalist Maari Randvali Verbally Commits to Michigan for 2027

NEW COMMIT: The University of Michigan has added another international verbal commitment for Fall 2027, this time from Maari Randvali of Tallinn, Estonia.

She will join Wui Kiu Man and Sofia Szymanowski in Ann Arbor as a member of the Wolverines’ Class of 2031.

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“I’m so excited to finally announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at the University of Michigan. I’m so so grateful for everyone who has supported me along the way, especially my coaches @coachcollingsbarnes and @martti.aljand, my friends and family. Big thanks to coach Matt, coach Aaron and the whole @umichswimdive team for giving me this AMAZING opportunity! Can’t wait to be apart of this team!!! GO BLUE”

Randvali, who trains year-round with Kalevi Ujumiskool, she most recently recorded three best times at the AP Race International Meet last month. She had a great showing at the Swim England Winter National Championships in December, notching six lifetime bests and earning a runner-up showing in the 100m back.

Last summer, she advanced to the semifinals in the 100m back and 200m back at the LEN European Junior Championships before competing in three events at the World Aquatic Championships.

In LCM, her best times include:

  • 50m back – 28.73
  • 100m back – 1:01.65
  • 200m back – 2:16.01
  • 100m fly – 59.96

In SCY, those times convert to:

  • 50 back – 24.47
  • 100 back – 52.71
  • 200 back – 1:58.19
  • 100 fly – 52.64

Michigan won the 2026 Big Ten Championships, its first conference title since 2018 and its 18th conference crown all-time. The Wolverines then finished sixth at the 2026 NCAA Championships.

Randvali’s best time in the 100 back (converted to yards) would’ve scored in the B-final at the Big Ten Championships.
