Eastern Interscholastic Champion Amelia Gipson Picks Harvard For 2027
NEW COMMIT: North Wales, Pa. native Amelia Gipson has announced her verbal commitment* to Harvard University for Fall 2027. Gipson is a versatile swimmer who has earned Junior National qualifying cuts.
Regarding her commitment, she said:

Gipson does her club swimming with Germantown Academy Aquatics Club. She had a great showing at December’s MI OLY NCSA Championships where she earned six new lifetime bests and won the 200 fly, 500 free and 400 IM. Last summer, she finaled in five events at NCSA Championships.
Her best times include:

Currently a junior at Germantown Academy, Gipson won the 500 free and took second in the 200 IM at the 2026 Eastern Interscholastic Swimming Championship. She earned silver in both of those events at that meet in 2025 during her sophomore season.
Harvard placed third at the 2026 Ivy League Championships. Gipson’s top times would’ve scored in the A-final of the 200 fly as well as the B-final of the 500 free and 400 IM at this year’s conference meet.
*IVY LEAGUE DISCLAIMER:* A “verbal commitment” does not guarantee admission. An Ivy League coach cannot guarantee admission but can only commit support in the admissions process.
