Cayman Islands National Record Holder Sierrah Broadbelt Sends 2027 Verbal to Alabama
NEW COMMIT: The University of Alabama has scored a verbal commitment for the 2027-28 season and beyond from Sierrah Broadbelt of Grand Cayman, the largest of the Cayman Islands. She owns several Cayman Islands national records.
Regarding her commitment, she said:
“I am so thrilled to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at the University of Alabama! I would like to thank my coaches, my family, friends and God for helping and supporting me along this ongoing journey. And a very special thank you to Coach Margo and Coach Catie at Alabama for this amazing opportunity. I’m so honored to be a part of the tide. ROLL TIDE ROLL!!”
Broadbelt trains year-round with Seven Mile Swimmers. A versatile swimmer, she excels in freestyle, backstroke and butterfly.
Broadbelt had a great showing at the 2026 XXXIX CARIFTA Aquatic Championships back in April. There, she won the 100m fly, 200m fly, 50m back and 200m back while taking second in the 100m back and fourth in the 100m free. She earned seven gold medals – all of her individual events – at the Cayman Islands National Championships in February.
In LCM, her best times include:
- 50m free – 27.46
- 100m free – 56.40
- 50m back – 29.86
- 100m back – 1:04.39
- 200m back – 2:21.51
- 50m fly – 28.23
- 100m fly – 1:02.11
- 200m fly – 2:16.69
- 200m IM – 2:26.13
In SCY, those times convert to:

Last summer, she competed at the 10th World Aquatics Junior Championships, racing five events and two relays. She placed sixth in the 100m SCM back at Swim England Winter National Championships in December.
Alabama finished fourth at the 2026 Southeastern Conference Championships and 11th at the 2026 NCAA Championships.
