Day two of the 2017 Eastern Interscholastic Swimming & Diving Championships continued today with a National Independent School record and a few AA All American times.
Emma Seiberlich of Episcopal grabbed the top seed in prelims of the women’s 100 free with a 50.83, posting the only sub-51 second time. Mercersburg’s Lindsay Tanner took second in prelims with a 51.97, while Notre Dame’s Michaela McGeary was third with a 52.81.

Reece Whitley of Penn Charter achieved a new National Independent High School record mark in the 100 breaststroke. Whitley uncorked a 52.35 to soar past Jacob Molacek’s 2014 record of 52.92. That time also took down his own meet record of 52.97, set at last year’s championships.
Whitley’s senior teammate Evan McFadden touched second in prelims in 56.12. Mercersburg’s Dean Nguyen claimed the third spot in 56.23.
