Michigan Opens 2028 Recruiting with Verbal from Florida 1A State Champ Feagin Kaminski
NEW COMMIT: The University of Michigan has secured its first public verbal commitment for Fall 2028 from West Palm Beach, Fla. native Feagin Kaminski. Kaminski is a Junior National qualifier who excels in butterfly, backstroke and freestyle.
Regarding her commitment, she said:
“It’s great to be a Michigan Wolverine!! I am extremely grateful and excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at the University of Michigan! I would first like to thank my parents for their constant support and love, and my sister, Dwyer, for always being by my side. Also, thank you to my family, friends, and teammates for guiding me every step of the way. I would not be where I am today without all the amazing coaches who have not only helped me grow but also made me fall in love with this sport (Coach Santy, Coach Mike, and Coach Justin). In addition, I am so grateful to The Dragons and CWAC for assisting in making this dream come true! Finally, this would not have been possible without Coach Aaron, Coach Matt, and the entire coaching staff at Michigan, so thank you for this incredible opportunity! GO BLUE!!!!”
Kaminski does her club swimming with Jupiter Dragons Swim Team and placed 13th in the 200m fly at Junior Nationals last month. She was the runner-up in both the 100m back and 200m fly at Ocala Speedo Sectionals in June before finaling in six events at Westmont Speedo Sectionals in July.
In March, Kaminski earned gold in the 200 back and grabbed silver in the 200 free and 200 fly at Florida Short Course Seniors. She then won the B-final of the 100 fly and 200 fly at NCSA Spring Championships.
Her best times include:
- 50 fly – 24.38
- 100 fly – 53.78
- 200 fly – 1:58.53
- 50 back – 25.57
- 100 back – 54.98
- 200 back – 1:57.50
- 200 free – 1:48.57
Currently a junior at Benjamin High School, Kaminski won the 100 back and was the 100 fly runner-up at the 2025 Florida 1A State Championships. She finished fifth and fourth, respectively, in those events at the state meet during her freshman season in 2024.
Michigan won the 2026 Big Ten Championships, its first conference title since 2018 and its 18th conference crown all-time. The Wolverines then finished sixth at the 2026 NCAA Championships.
Kaminski’s best time in the 200 fly is already fast enough to score in the B-final at the conference meet, while her top 200 back time would’ve placed in the C-final.
