Washington State Sets 5 Pool Records in Beating Northern Arizona
Washington State set five pool records at Gibb Pool, including in both relays, to Northern Arizona, 168-36, on Saturday.
Washington State kicked off the record onslaught in the 200 medley relay, with Anna Rauchholz, Emily Lundgren, Addy Lewis and Kathryn Gyde going 1:39.62. Lauren Wille, Issabelle Parrish, Barbora Mileisyte and Darcy Revitt set the pool mark in the 400 free relay with a time of 3:19.38 to finish it off.
In between, the Cougars swept each individual victory. Revitt won the 200 free in 1:47.85, a pool mark that is the sixth-fastest time in program history. Lithuanian freshman Mileisyte won the 50 free in 22.53, a pool mark that is fourth in program history. Veteran stalwart Lundgren won the 200 individual medley with a pool-record time of 2:00.47.
Each record-setter added a second victory. Revitt went 1:01.92 to claim the 100 breaststroke. Lundgren’s time of 53.13 bested Parish to the win in the 100 butterfly. Mileisyte went 50.21 to win the 100 free, .47 seconds up on Parrish.
Wille won the 1,000 free in 10:09.20, less than a second ahead of teammate Tatum Janning, who won the 500 free in 4:59.07. Rauchholz was fastest in the 100 backstroke in 54.31.
