Virginia’s Dominance of SCY All-Time Rankings Gets Boost From Anna Moesch

As Virginia cruised into the final of the CSCAA Dual Meet Challenge on Saturday afternoon, sophomore Anna Moesch significantly enhanced her profile in collegiate history. With scorching performances in the 100-yard freestyle and 200 freestyle, Moesch surged into the historical top-five for those events. While she clocked 45.98 in the 100 freestyle, Moesch touched the wall in 1:40.25 in the 200 freestyle.

By jumping into the top-five, it triggered the question: In how many events does the University of Virginia boast at least two of the five-fastest performers of all-time? The answer: Of the 13 individual events contested at the NCAA Championships, a stunning 10 feature two or more Cavaliers. The 100 freestyle and 100 butterfly include three UVA athletes.

Here is a look at how the University of Virginia dominates the all-time rankings in short-course yards.

Note: Virginia’s Katie Grimes was included in the 500 freestyle, although her No. 3-ranking performance arrived as a member of the Sandpipers of Nevada.
