USA Water Polo Selects Swimming World as Official Publishing Partner Through 2030
USA Water Polo and Swimming World have announced a landmark multi-year partnership, naming Swimming World the Official Publishing Partner of USA Water Polo through the LA28 Olympics, extending into 2030. This collaboration is designed to dramatically expand the sport’s visibility and participation, with a bold objective: to double USA Water Polo’s membership over the next four years.
The timing aligns with growing momentum ahead of the LA28 Olympic Games. By partnering with Swimming World—a multi-media platform that reaches over 500,000 swimmers, parents, and coaches—USA Water Polo will introduce the sport to a highly engaged audience already immersed in aquatic competition. Many competitive swimmers possess the ideal skill set to add the team sport of water polo into their sport of portfolio making them more well-rounded aquatic athletes. This initiative provides a direct path to explore that opportunity.
Through this partnership, water polo will be more accessible and visible to aquatic athletes and fans. Joint editorial coverage, athlete features, Olympic hopeful spotlights, and club profiles will run across Swimming World’s digital and print outlets, website, video content, SW App, and social media channels. Integrated storytelling strategy will highlight how water polo complements swimming by building endurance, strength, coordination, teamwork and a deeper love for aquatic sports.
USA Water Polo’s official magazine, SkipShot, will also undergo a major transformation. The publication will move to a fully digital format, increasing in frequency from quarterly to six issues per year. The magazine will be integrated into both the SW App and Swimming World’s Digital Special Editions, allowing a broader audience to receive real-time updates and content directly on their mobile devices.
The partnership will also feature coordinated social media activations across Instagram, Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), YouTube, and Pinterest, amplifying reach and engagement across both swim and water polo audiences. With a shared commitment to community, access, and Olympic success, USA Water Polo and Swimming World are aligned in their mission to fuel long-term growth for the sport.
“This partnership with Swimming World is a true game-changer for how we share the story of water polo,” said Jamie Davis, CEO of USA Water Polo. “Moving SkipShot to a digital format allows us to deliver more frequent, timely content—growing from four to six issues annually—and better recognizing our athletes and members. Beyond the magazine, this collaboration includes joint promotional efforts and expanded water polo coverage across Swimming World’s platforms, including coordinated social media. We’re always looking for new ways to add value for our members, and this partnership does exactly that. We’re excited to get started.”
“The next water polo player is already in the pool—training as a competitive swimmer,” added Jack Hallahan, CEO of Swimming World. “Growth starts with exposure: learning how to play, where to play, and realizing how water polo can enhance overall swim performance. The sport builds endurance, strength, coordination, and a deeper connection to the water. We’re proud to help reconnect these two disciplines, which have a rich history of crossover success. Jamie is absolutely right—moving SkipShot to a digital format, expanding to six issues per year, and increasing water polo coverage creates real momentum. We’re excited to help grow both sports and give Team USA its strongest platform heading into LA28.”
