USA Swimming announced the coach selection framework and athlete selection procedures for the 2025 World University Games.
USA Swimming will select coaches for the 2025 World University Games on or before June 12, 2025. The Games are July 17-23 in Berlin.
Swimmers eligible for selection are between 18-25 years old and currently registered in a college where they are working toward a diploma, degree or something equal to it.
Swimmers must have an automatic time standard they reach, be U.S. citizens and registered and good-standing member of USA Swimming. They also cannot be considered a replacement swimmer for the World Aquatics Championship of World Aquatics Junior Swimming Championships.
The maximum Team size is 20 men and 20 women. The Team size will be determined once these Selection Procedures are implemented. For purposes of these Selection Procedures, the men’s and women’s components of the Team will be considered separately. USA Swimming is under no obligation to Select to the Team a full Team of 20 athletes in each gender.
Transgender athletes shall compete at the Championships consistent with USA Swimming, FISU, the International Olympic Committee, AQUA, USOPC, and Championships’ organizing committee policies and criteria
