Tom Dean Among Team Setting Sights on English Channel Relay Record for RLSS Fundraising
Tom Dean, Dan Jervis and Hector Pardoe are among a team of six British swimmers that will attempt to break the English Channel relay world record later this month.
The squad will take on the 33km challenge from the Kent coast of England to France to raise funds for the Royal Life Saving Society UK (RLSS) for whom triple Olympic champion Dean is a celebrity ambassador.
Dean will be joined by open water Olympians Pardoe and Toby Robinson, double Commonwealth champion Jervis and British fly gold medallist Josh Gammon. They’ll be joined by swimmer and triathlete George Taplin who was the first person to swim the lengths of 13 Lake District lakes in three days in 2020 and who set the Lake Windermere wetsuit swim world record in September 2025, swimming 10.5 miles in 3hrs 14mins 58secs.
The cross-channel record stands at 6hrs 52mins held by the US national team and has been untouched for 36 years.
