Swim & Tell Podcast: Jillian Cox and Erin Gemmell Share Inside Look at Texas Program
The latest episode of the Swimming World podcast, Swim & Tell, has gone live, and it features University of Texas standouts Jillian Cox and Erin Gemmell. The Swim & Tell Podcast debuted earlier this fall, with episodes featuring conversations about the athletic aspect of the sport, along with chatter about swim life, superstitions and more.
A sophomore, Cox is the reigning NCAA champion in the 500-yard freestyle and 1650 freestyle, having posted times of 4:31.58 and 15:33.54 in the distance events. As for Gemmell, she has played a key role for the United States in international competition, including helping Team USA set an American record in the 800-meter freestyle relay at last summer’s World Championships in Singapore.

The topic is covered in this latest episode, along with the school’s move last year from the Big 12 Conference to the Southeastern Conference (SEC). The Longhorns figure to be a major factor again at March’s NCAA Championships, which will debut a new format, and Cox and Gemmell will certainly play significant roles.
