Ryan Murphy Slated to Return to Competition at Pro Swim Series in Sacramento
Olympic champion Ryan Murphy will be back in the pool for his first competition since the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
DART Swimming, the host of next week’s Pro Swim Series stop in Sacramento announced Murphy’s return on social media.

Murphy last raced in Paris, where he won the bronze medal in the 100-meter backstroke and also finished 10th in the 200 back. He earned a silver medal as part of the 400 medley relay team.
Since the Olympics, Ryan Murphy became a father and took more time off to spend with his growing family – with another child on the way.
Murphy he has begun his post-competitive career, working with “the Growth Equity team at Norwest focusing on sports investment opportunities.”
Paris was Murphy’s third Olympics. His first was in Rio de Janeiro in 2016 where he won the gold medal in both backstroke events and as part of the U.S. 400 medley relay. In that relay, Murphy broke the world record in the 100 back, leading off the relay in a time of 51.85.
DART also released some names of autograph appearances at the meet, which includes Michael Andrew, Phoebe Bacon, Santo Condorelli, Aiden Hayes, Joey Tepper and Luca Urlando.
