Reigning Champs Virginia, Texas Start Season No. 1 in CSCAA Polls

The Virginia women’s team and Texas’s men start the 2026-27 season as the No. 1 teams in the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America polls, released on Friday.

Virginia is fresh off its sixth straight NCAA title, a record on the women’s side. It received all 10 first-place votes for 250 points. Stanford is second with 233, one point up on Texas. Tennessee and Indiana each topped 200 points to round out the top five.

Michigan, California, Louisville, NC State and Florida comprise the top 10.

On the men’s side, Texas is the two-time reigning NCAA champion, the last crown its 17th overall. The Longhorns were a unanimous pick for the top spot at 250 points. Indiana was second at 235, with Florida’s 231 third. California, Tennessee and Arizona State all got more than 200 points. Seventh is NC State, then a tie between Stanford and Michigan for eighth and Virginia checking in at 10th.
