Brendan Burns completed an individual event sweep at the 2018 YMCA National Championships, touching the wall in 1:44.49 in tonight’s 200 butterfly. Burns, of Upper Maine Line, also added his third YMCA National record, breaking the 1:44.76 set last year by Corey Gambardella.
There was a tight race for second. Despite sitting in third by a tenth, at the 100, Wilkes Barre’s Adam Mahler got to the wall in 1:48.22, just .03 ahead of Pocono’s Zachary Wolbert in 1:48.25.
