POLL: What Was the Best Performance of the Summer? (VOTE HERE!)
Multiple world records went down between the European Championships in Paris and the Pan Pacific Championships in Southern California. With the sport not holding a global championship meet, it was a refreshing sight to see some of the world’s best athletes in peak form at a regional competition.
While American Kate Douglass (50 freestyle) and Italian Sara Curtis (50 backstroke) each broke a pair of records in their sprint disciplines, Germany’s Johannes Liebmann (1500 freestyle) shattered a world record in the longest event on the pool program. Meanwhile, the United States established a global standard in the mixed 400 medley relay.
In the poll below, Swimming World is asking its readers to vote for what they believe is the best performance of the summer. We have listed the four world-record setters as choices, but have also included an “other” option if you have another perspective, perhaps Hubert Kos in the 200 backstroke, Kristof Milak in the 100 butterfly or Lani Pallister in the 800 freestyle. You make the call.
Vote in the poll below and let us know what you believe was the best performance of the summer.
