Nova Southeastern Women, Drury Men Lead CSCAA Division II Rankings

The Nova Southeastern women’s team and Drury’s men’s squad lead the preseason CSCAA Division II swimming and diving dual meet pool, released this week.

Nova Southeastern is no surprise, having won the last four NCAA Division II Championships. The Sharks lead the way with 245 points, just three ahead of Tampa. Colorado Mesa was third, followed by Drury and Indianapolis.

The top three are in the same orders as the NCAA finish last year, while Drury and Indy were fifth and sixth, respectively. (Fourth-place West Florida has made the jump to Division I).

On the men’s side, Drury’s 243 points is enough to give it the top spot in the poll, two ahead of Tampa. The Spartans, however, were 13.5 points up in the final standings at the NCAA Championships last year.

Indianapolis is third, followed by Colorado Mesa and Wingate. CMU was third at NCAAs last year ahead of UIndy, while Wingate was seventh.

The rankings are voted on by committees of Division II coaches representing a cross-section of programs and conferences throughout the country. Poll committee members evaluate teams based on head-to-head performances, nationally ranked performances, significant performances achieved since the previous poll, results from invitational and championship-style competition, and the quality and depth of performances across events.
