Not Slowing Down: The 30-Something Swimmers Ranked Among the Top-20 in the World (Women’s Edition)

At the 2008 Olympic Games, United States legend Dara Torres claimed a silver medal in the 50-meter freestyle at the age of 41. These days, there aren’t any female swimmers of Torres’ age, but there are several 30-something athletes who have continued to excel on the international stage. Among them is Polish 33-year-old Kasia Wasick, whose 2025 campaign includes a No. 6 ranking in the 50 freestyle.

As the year winds down, and the sport looks ahead to a 2026 that will feature several international competitions, here is a look at the 30-and-older female swimmers who ranked in the top-20 in the world in at least one event. The oldest athlete on the list is Japan’s Satomi Suzuki, with the 34-year-old ranking in all three breaststroke events.
