NCAA Men’s Championships: Day 2 Prelims Will Set up Sprint Showdown (Heat Sheets)

The 2025 NCAA Division I Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships continues from Federal Way, Washington, with the Day 2 Prelims.
The Day 2 morning events are the 500 freestyle, 200 IM and 50 freestyle, before moving into 1-meter diving.

There are 49 NCAA entries in the 500 freestyle and will be seven heats.
Texas’s Rex Maurer, who broke the American record at a midseason meet this season will have the top seed in 4:04.45. He will be in Lane 4, alongside Georgia’s Jake Magahey and Florida’s Jake Mitchell.
Yale’s Noah Millard has the second overall seed and will be flanked by Cal’s Gabriel Jett and Lucas Henveaux.
The 200 IM has 57 entries at NCAAs and eight heats.
Florida’s Julian Smith has the top seed, and he will be in Lane 4 in the final heat, lined up next to Texas’s Hubert Kos, the Olympic 200 backstroke champion.
The event will be loaded with top swimmers like Colin Geer, Destin Lasco, Luca Urlando, Daniel Diehl, Gal Groumi, Baylor Nelson, Nate Germonprez and more.
The 50 free has 62 competitors and eight heats.
Tennessee’s Jordan Crooks has the top seed in 17.85 and will be flanked by Arizona State’s Ilya Kharun and NC State’s Quintin McCarty.
The previous heat will see second-seeded Josh Liendo of Florida flanked by Cal’s Jack Alexy and Arizona State’s Jonny Kulow.
That will set up an extremely fast final in the 50.
