Maxime Grousset Fires Off 50 Fly Rankings Topper in Lausanne
Maxime Grousset added the 50 fly to his 50 free crown as he outdid himself at the top of the rankings at the Lausanne Swim Cup.
The Frenchman, who won the 50/100 fly double at the 2025 worlds in Singapore, fired off 22.78 ahead of Thomas Ceccon and Noè Ponti who shared second in 23.07.
It was 0.30 off Grousset’s French record of 22.48 set en-route to the title in Singapore and 0.02 quicker than his previous rankings topper of 22.80 at the Pro Swim Series in Austin. Grousset now holds the top three times of 2026 and his 50 blast followed his sprint free title on Friday in 21.78.

Marie Wattel made it a French fly double with an emphatic 26.09 victory in the women’s race almost a second ahead of Chiara Tarantino (27.04).
Noah Verreth lowered his own Belgian record in the 100 back, taking it to 54.14 with Pauline Mahieu winning the women’s in 1:00.21.
Caspar Corbeau clinched the 50/100 breaststroke double with a 1:00.07 victory over two lengths. Antoine Viquerat (1:00.83) and Carl Aitkaci (1:01.10) joined the Netherlands swimmer on the podium,
Lisa Angiolini enjoyed a clear win in the women’s equivalent, the Italian clocking 1:06.80 ahead of Florine Gaspard (1:07.62) with Kay-Lyn Loehr (1:08.28).
Alberto Razzetti and Mary-Sophie Harvey each completed the IM double with the Italian clocking 2:00.47 and the Canadian 2:10.46 in their respective 200IM races.
Patrick Sammon won the men’s 200 free in 1:47.52 with Tarantino taking the women’s in 2:01.16.
