Kelsi Dahlia, “It Doesn’t Feel Like We Are in the US” (VIDEO INTERVIEW)

Kelsi Dahlia swam the 100 fly on Friday night at the FINA Champions Series in Indianapolis with a 57.55. It was a season best for Dahlia as she now sits eighth in the world rankings in the event. She was second to Sweden’s Sarah Sjostrom (56.42), who put up the top time in the world.
Dahlia also swam at the FINA Champions Series in China in April. She talked about her experience traveling to the meet in Guangzhou after a hectic travel schedule on the way home from the meet.
Dahlia also gave her thoughts on not having a prelims swim at the new event. The meet is finals only and has four people per event. It is a new format that FINA has started and the athletes have a chance to win more prize money.
Dahlia said she did not feel like she was in the United States with how the venue looked at the IU Natatorium. She said it was a good opportunity for her to race Sjostrom so frequently as those two will be the medal favorites for the 100 fly at the World Championships later this summer.
