Katinka Hosszu on Finding Training Consistencies After Emotional 2018 (VIDEO INTERVIEW)

Katinka Hosszu swam five events at the 2019 FINA Champions Series meet in Indianapolis, winning the 200 IM on Saturday night with a 2:08.50 which is the fastest time in the world for 2019. Hosszu was in a really good race with Sydney Pickrem, who broke the Canadian Record with a 2:08.61 after leading almost the whole race. Pickrem is also second in the world rankings.

Hosszu was also second in the 200 fly (2:07.87), second in the 200 back (2:06.94), fourth in the 100 back (1:00.95), fourth in the 400 free (4:12.30).

Hosszu said she is currently training in Budapest and finally found some consistencies with her training in September after the European Championships. She was pleasantly surprised with her 2:06 200 back to start the meet considering the jet lag and the time difference between Hungary and the United States. Hosszu was satisfied with her swims in Indianapolis and she said she is looking forward to racing rested at the World Championships in seven weeks.

Hosszu also said she was going to focus on the 200 and 400 IM this summer and will not do the 200 fly. She also said she might do the 200 back and/or the 200 free.
