Parratto wrote in part:

“While this decision may not come as a surprise to many, making it official gives me a sense of closure on something that has been such a defining part of my life. …

“I’m closing this chapter with a heart that is so full. Not saying goodbye to diving, but simply growing into the next version of who this sport helped me become.”

Parratto, 31, competed for the United States at the 2016, 2021 and 2024 Olympics. In Tokyo in 2021, she paired with Delaney Schnell to win silver on women’s 10-meter synchronized platform, the country’s first medal in that Olympic event.

Parratto is a native of Dover, New Hampshire. She made her first World Championships team in 2015 at age 17 and would go on to win bronze in women’s platform synchro at the 2023 World Championships in Fukuoka with Schnell.

Parratto and Schnell finished sixth in platform synchro at the Paris Olympics in 2024.

Parratto placed 10th on platform at the 2016 Olympics in Rio, her only individual competition on the Olympic stage. That year, she and Amy Cozad combined to finish seventh on synchro.

Parratto is an eight-time USA Diving National Champion. Parratto competed collegiately at Indiana University, where she was an 11-time All-American. She won five Big Ten titles as well as the NCAA title on platform as a freshman in 2016.
