Indiana Swimming Sweeps Rival Purdue on Senior Day

The Indiana men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams topped rival Purdue on senior day.

The No. 9 Hoosiers won the women’s meet 186-114 and the No. 3 Indiana men won 209.5-90.5 on Saturday, Jan. 24.

Indiana’s Mya DeWitt, Jonett Lagreid, Grace Hoeper and Inwon the 200 medley relay in 1:36.08.

Clark won the 100 backstroke (52.40) ahead of Purdue’s Abby Marcukaitis (52.73), the 200 IM (1:55.86) and the 100 fly in 51.26. Lagreid won the 100 breaststroke in 1:01.92 and 200 breast (2:13.05).

Miranda Grana won the 200 free in 1:45.97, going 1-2 in Kristina Paegle (1:46.27). Paegle won the 50 free in 22.24 and 100 free in 48.35. Ella Roselli won 1-meter diving with 311.78 points.

Indiana’s Sze Yeo, Hoeper, Paegle and DeWitt won the 200 free relay in 1:28.01.

Marcukaitis won the 200 backstroke in 1:55.14.

Purdue’s Reagan Mattice won the 1000 freestyle in 9:48.00. Campbell Scofield won the 200 fly in 1:57.73. Caitlin Hurley won the 500 free in 4:50.01.

Purdue diver Daryn Wright won platform with a score of 324.23.

In the men’s meet, Indiana’s Miroslav Knedla, Alexei Avakov, Mikkel Lee and Vidar Carlbaum won the 200 medley relay in 1:23.67.

Avakov won the 100 breaststroke in 52.53 and 200 breast (1:57.04). Lee won the 50 free in 19.38. Carlbaum won the 100 free (42.91).

Indiana’s Noah Cakir won the 1000 free in 8:54.58 and 500 free (4:19.73). Zalan Sarkany won the 200 free in 1:35.20. Kai Van Westering won the 100 back (46.50) and 200 back (1:43.03). Raekwon Noel won the 200 IM (1:45.96).

Max Lestina, Van Westering, Travis Gulledge and Lee won the 200 free relay in 1:17.43.

Purdue’s Biko Hooper-Haviland won the 200 fly in 1:43.93. Alex Hotta won the 100 fly in 45.81.

Purdue’s Tyler Willis won platform diving with a score of 429.38. Holden Higbie won 1-meter with a score of 364.50.
