Hector Pardoe & Leah Crisp Spearhead Great Britain Team At European Aquatics Open Water Swimming Championships

Paris Olympians Hector Pardoe and Leah Crisp have been named in a four-strong Great Britain team for the European Aquatics Open Water Swimming Championships in Croatia.

The 21st edition of the event is being held in Stari Grad, on the island of Hvar, Croatia, from 28 to 31 May 2025, 36 years after it hosted the inaugural championships in 1989.

Pardoe and Crisp – who were sixth and 20th respectively in the 10k in the River Seine last year – will be joined by Ella Dyson and Sean McCann who will be making their senior international debuts.

Crisp and Pardoe have both competed in the 2025 World Aquatics Open Water Swimming World Cup series with Crisp also winning 1500 free bronze at the British Championships last month.

Dyson approaches the championships on the back of a top-five finish earlier this month at the European Aquatics Open Water Cup in Protaras, Cyprus, while McCann has the opportunity to test himself against top-level marathon swimmers a year on from acquiring multiple medals at the Best Fest Open Water festival he attended as a member of the Scottish Swimming Open Water Development Squad.
