Georgia Tech to Reprise Dual Meet Tournament for Second Season
Georgia Tech on Tuesday announced that it will return its dual meet tournament for a second season, hosting seven other teams.
Auburn, Florida State, Kentucky, Minnesota, Notre Dame, Penn State, and George Washington will join the Yellow Jackets in the second edition of the tournament. Last year’s tournament was held in October, with eight schools taking part in 12 dual meets over a weekend.
Auburn, FSU, GW and Minnesota State all return from the inaugural tournament, which NC State won over Georgia in the final. Four of this year’s participants finished in the top 25 of the CSCAA final dual-meet poll of 2026.
Dates and times will be announced at a later date.
From the press release:
The tournament will see all eight teams face off in the opening round of the dual meet, the opening round winners advancing to the winners’ bracket, with the losers moving into the consolation bracket. The semifinals of each bracket will determine the final placement matchups spanning from the championship, third-place, fifth-place, and seventh-place meets.
The dual meet tournament is one of several new formats looking to revitalize the usual in-season meets. That includes the new College Swimming League. Auburn is the only participant in both entities.
