Florida State Swims Past Tampa For In-State Sweep

The Florida State men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams swept Tampa in an instate battle on Friday afternoon.

The FSU men won 183-79 and the women won 196-65.

The Florida State women started with a win in the 200 medley relay. Edith Jernstedt, Maddy Huggins, Jenny Halden and Gloria Muzito got to the wall in 1:38.95.

Muzito won the 50 free in 22.74 and 100 free in 49.39. Jernstedt won the 100 butterfly (52.19). Huggins won the 200 IM (2:02.28).

FSU’s Julia Brzozowski won the 1000 free in 10:01.88. Mika Heideyer won the 200 free in 1:48.87. Alice Velden won the 100 backstroke (52.95). Julia Mansson won the 100 breaststroke (1:01.28) and 200 breaststroke (2:14.38). Maysa Ratiu won the 500 free (4:55.16).

Maryn McDade, Nika Steigerwald, Kiara Caamano and Mary Leigh Hardman won the 200 free relay in 1:31.87.

Tampa’s Burlingtyn Bokos won the 200 butterfly in 1:59.57. Lindsey Louder won the 200 backstroke (1:59.68).

In the men’s meet, Florida State’s Mason Herbet, Tommaso Baravelli, Michel Arkhangelskiy and Sam Bork won the 200 medley relay in 1:25.12.

Herbet won the 100 back in 46.58. Baravelli won the 100 breast in 53.48 and 200 breast in 1:56.03. Arkhangelskiy won the 200 back in 1:40.50.

FSU’s Yordan Yanchev won the 200 free in 1:34.82. Logan Robinson won the 200 fly in 1:43.67, 100 fly in 47.66 and 100 free in 44.15. Mathias Christensen won the 200 IM (1:46.74).

Bork, Arkhangelskiy, Arijus Pavlidi and Jokubas Keblys won the 200 free relay (1:18.55).

Tampa’s Jacob Hamlin won the men’s 1000 free in 8:53.99 and 500 free in 4:20.96. Tibor Tistan won the 50 free in 20.03.
