Entry Lists for Pan Pacific Championships Released (See Full Entries)
The initial entry lists for next week’s Pan Pacific Championships have been released. While many athletes are entered in more events than they will ultimately contest, the entries provide a glimpse of what some swimmers are thinking for their major international competition of the 2026 season.
Canada’s Summer McIntosh is entered in the 200-meter freestyle, 200 butterfly, 400 freestyle, 200 individual medley and 400 individual medley. She is the world-record holder in all but the 200 freestyle. The 200 free and 200 fly are scheduled for the opening day of the meet, so it will be interesting to see if McIntosh races both events. If she bypasses the 200 freestyle, she could race that event as part of the 800 freestyle relay on Day Two.
American Kate Douglass is entered in seven events, the result of her versatility. She’ll have some decisions to make, espcially with Douglass figuring into relay duty for the United States. For now, Douglass holds entries in the 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle, all three breaststroke events, the 50 butterfly and the 200 individual medley.
Coming off the Commonwealth Games, New Zealand stars Lewis Clareburt and Erika Fairweather are two athletes from non-charter countries (Australia, Canada, Japan, United States) who will compete at the William Woollett Aquatics Center. Brazil’s Gui Caribe and Argentina’s Agostina Hein also appear on the entry lists, along with a solid squad from China led by freestyler Zhang Zhanshuo.
The entry lists do not reflect some withdrawals that have already been announced, as Australians Mollie O’Callaghan (injury) and Kaylee McKeown (illness) are still listed.
