To qualify for the Singapore worlds – which run from 27 July to 3 August – a swimmer must finish first in an Olympic event and record a time that equals or betters those in the table below. Athletes that finish second in a time equal or better than that in the table will be considered for selection to a team that will have a maximum of 30 athletes.

Women’s 800 Free Fastest Heat

Amelie Blocksidge clinched the distance double with victory in 8:37.95 with the 16-year-old set to leave London with gold in the 800 and 1500 plus silver over 400m. Fleur Lewis was second in 8:42.34 and Lucy Fox third in 8:47.29.

Women’s 100 Free

Freya Anderson came back on the second 50 to pip Eva Okaro to the title by just 0.01. Okaro – winner of the 50 free and 50 fly – reached halfway ahead in 26.13 to 26.22. However, Anderson came home in 27.87 to take the touch by the narrowest of margins in 54.09 to 54.10. Both women were outside the cut although Okaro has already booked her place on the British team for Singapore and leaves London with two golds, a silver and a bronze in the 100 fly. Freya Colbert – who’s qualified in the 200 free and got the consideration time in the 4IM – was third in 54.54. The time wasn’t sufficient to confirm a 4×1 free relay spot although it did qualify a women’s medley relay as Anderson booked her place on the team.
