Bridgette Alexander, Former US National Team Swimmer, Named Assistant Coach at University at Buffalo

Bridgette Alexander begins her first season as assistant coach on the University at Buffalo swimming and diving staff for the 2020 – 21 season.

Alexander served as a volunteer assistant coach at the University of Kentucky for the 2019-20 season where the Wildcats women’s team placed third at the Southeastern Conference (SEC) Swimming and Diving Championships.

The former University of Kentucky swimmer will bring four years of Division I swimming experience to the Bulls’ staff. Alexander was a four-year letter winner at the University of Kentucky as she competed as a backstroke specialist. She served as a team captain for the Wildcats in 2017 and 2018. Alexander also competed at the SEC Championships all four years of her collegiate career.

Bridgette Alexander is no stranger to the big stage as she competed at the national and international levels. She was a bronze medal winner in the 200-meter backstroke at the 2017 World University Games that was held in Taipei City, Taiwan. In 2016, she was a U.S. Olympic Trials finalist in the 200-meter backstroke.

The Milton, Wisc. native graduated from the University of Kentucky in 2018 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science. Alexander was named to the SEC Honor Roll from 2015-18 where she also earned NCAA Scholar All-American honors. In 2019, she earned her Master’s of Education in Sport Leadership from Kentucky.
