A Look at the Qualifying Times for the U.S. Olympic Trials – Wave I & Wave II

With the United States Olympic Trials split into two Waves. Wave I from June 4-7 and Wave II from June 13-20, here is a look at the qualifying standards. The Wave I times are the same as the original qualifying times, with the Wave II standards quicker to enable to the contenders for the Tokyo Games to race against one another. Both meets will still occur at the CHI Health Center Arena in Omaha, Nebraska.

There is still no word on how many fans will be able to attend the US Olympic Swimming Trials, as the CHI Health Center seats up to 17,000 people. USA Swimming will close off qualifying for Olympic Swimming Trials on May 30. According to USA Swimming, athletes that have already achieved the Wave II time standards will not need to re-qualify between now and May 30. The Wave II standards were created to meet the current 41st seeded time.
