Poll of the Week: Which Mens NCAA Record Do You Think Will Be Broken in March?

This is the Swim Poll of the Week for Thursday, February 3, 2022. Sponsored by Strechcordz Swim Training Products. In our last swim poll, we wanted to know: Which Men’s NCAA Record Do You Think Will Be Broken in March?

The current 400 IM NCAA record is held by Chase Kalisz. His record has stood since 2017 when he stopped the clock at 3:33.42. He also claimed gold in this event this past summer in Tokyo. Leon Marchand, 3:35.62, and Carson Foster, 3:37.35, have both claimed A-cut times in this event. Slightly behind his brother with a B cut in this event is Jake Foster. Will this year’s NCAA race be a battle of the brothers? Either way, it will be a can’t miss race come March.

The 200 Butterfly NCAA record, 1.37.95, belongs to Jack Conger. When this was set in 2017, it was also an American record. Christian Ferraro has an A cut for 2022, followed closely by Brendan Burns and Danny Kovac with their B times. Ferraro is still a few seconds behind Conger, but the top five spots in the country are separated by hundredths of a second. This will definitely be a race to watch in Atlanta.

Dean Farris claimed the NCAA record in the 200 Freestyle during the 2019 NCAA’s. The Harvard swimmer touched the wall in 1:29.15 setting the 2019 NCAA, American, pool, U.S. Open, and meet records. Farris has been swimming well this past year since his return but only has a B cut in this event heading into NCAAs. Grant House has the only A time as of today, with Gabriel Jett and Luke Miller rounding out the top three times in the country.
