Teresa Crippen Accepts Donation for Fran Crippen Elevation Foundation

PISCATAWAY, New Jersey, January 17. IN what has become a newfound tradition at the CeraVe Invitational since Fran Crippen's death, everyone in attendance had the chance to donate to the Fran Crippen Elevation Foundation during the course of the completion. This year, Fran's sister Teresa was in attendance to accept a check for more than $1,300.

Teresa finished her collegiate career as a 17-time All-American, including scoring an impressive six citations during her senior year last year. Internationally, she won gold at the 2007 Pan American Games, and picked up silver in the 200 fly at the 2010 Pan Pacific Championships.

The Fran Crippen Elevation Foundation was created to “…empower and protect individuals as they elevate themselves in pursuit of their lifelong dreams. As a central voice for athlete safety, we focus on enhancing the culture of respect for athletes' protection. We actively advocate for safe competitive environments, with a focus on open water swimming events. Fran Crippen's boundless enthusiasm taught us much about enjoying life, embracing opportunities, and having dreams. In that spirit, we provide resources to aid athletes who embody Fran's passionate, inspiring character and promote egalitarian goodwill programs that encourage sportsmanship across the world.”

The Foundation has continued to move forward in honor of Fran's memory after Fran's untimely death two years ago during a FINA open water event in Fujairah, UAE.
