Hickory’s Ross Dant swept the distance freestyle events at the 2018 YMCA National Championships after winning the mile by 20 seconds tonight with his 14:50.97.

That time lowered his own National record by seven seconds. Dant is still only a junior, and verbally committed to NC State. He’s on track to be a significant contributor by the time he moves to Raleigh in fall 2019.

A Sarasota duo followed: Arik Katz (15:10.45) and Brett Riley (15:29.25).
