CHARLOTTE, N.C. – On Friday night, the Queens University of Charlotte swimming program will serve as the Honorary Keep Pounding Drummers for the NFL preseason game between the Carolina Panthers and New England Patriots at Bank of America Stadium.

The honor comes on the heels of Queens winning both the men’s and women’s 2018 Division II National Championships, the fourth consecutive year the Royals have hoisted the trophy. Four Royals, Hayley Blaauw, Bradford Hancock, Mitchell Harwood and McKenzie Stevens, will serve as drummers for the pregame ceremony.

“A special thank you to new owner Mr. David Tepper. His recognition of our program, our hard work and the student-athletes who have captured eight national championships (four men and four women) is an honor,” said Queens Associate Athletic Director for Strategic Planning and Leadership Development/Director of Swimming Operations Jeff Dugdale.

“Queens University of Charlotte would like to not only thank the Panthers’ organization but to invite them to add a Super Bowl Championship trophy alongside our National Championships.”

Queens, the reigning four-time national champion, begins its title defense on the weekend on Sept. 21-22. The men host Davidson College on Friday, while the women travel to Davidson, N.C. for a tri-meet with the Wildcats and UNC Asheville on Saturday.
