Palo Alto Stanford Aquatics Wins USA Swimming’s Future Championships after Night 4

Palo Alto Stanford Aquatics won USA Swimming’s Future Championships in Stanford, California. Mission Viejo Nadadores was second, while Santa Clara Swim Club garnered a third place.

Amalie Fackenthal of Davis Arden Racing Team started the final night off with a win in the Women’s 100 Meter Freestyle. Fackenthal clocked in with a 56.51, fast enough to edge out Palo Alto Stanford Aquatics’ Leah Goldman (56.66). Cathy Teng of Santa Clara Swim Team touched in third with a 56.75.

Andrew Liang of Stanford Swimming won the Men’s 100 Freestyle in 51.21. Second place went to Benjamin Ho of Palo Alto Stanford Aquatics, who finished in 51.45. Thomas Roark from Boise YMCA Swim Team swam a 51.48, enough to win him third place. George Horvath of Mission Viejo Nadadores dropped almost seven seconds from his entry time to win the Men’s 800 Meter Freestyle in 8:13.28. Brooks Fail touched the wall in 8:14.87, earning a second place. Third place went to Michael Messner of Santa Clara Swim Club, who finished in 8:18.82.

In the Women’s 200 Meter Backstroke, Jennifer Lathrop of Sierra Marlins Swim Team finished over two seconds ahead of the field. She clocked in at 2:15.74, while second place Madison Frederick of Temecula Swim Club finished in 2:17.48. Third place went to Lindsey Soule of Corvallis Aquatic Team who swam a 2:18.03.

Alex Liang of Palo Alto Stanford Aquatics won his fifth individual event in the Men’s 200 Meter Backstroke (2:04.39). Niles Biolley of Buenaventura Swim Club came in second, in a time of 2:05.14. Third place went to Aaron Elhajj of Bellevue Swim Cub, who touched in at 2:05.50.

In the Women’s 1500 Meter Freestyle, Stephanie Su of Anaheim Aquatics Association dropped over 22 seconds from her prelims time to win the event in 16.55.57. She bested the field by over 15 seconds, with second place Clair Schaef of Tri-City Channel Cats finishing in 17:11.72. Third place went to Julissa Arzave of South Bay Aquatics with a time of 17:13.14.

Katie McLaughlin of Mission Viejo Nadadores dropped over two seconds from her prelim time to win the Women’s 200 Meter IM in 2:15.59. Dasha Pastushenko of Sierra Marlins Swim Team came in second with a time of 2:18.84, just out touching Samantha Shelton of Sierra Marlins Swim Team who clocked in third with a time of 2:18.97.

Daniel Comforti of Brentwood Seawolves dropped a second from his prelim time, earning him a first place finish in the Men’s 200 Meter IM (2:06.01). Ho had another top three finish, coming in second with a time of 2:07.34. Joe Molinari of Palo Alto Stanford Aquatics came in third with a time of 2:07.61.

Goldman teamed up with Milan Hilde-Jones, Stefanie Ting, and Jennifer Campbell for the Palo Alto Stanford Aquatics to win the Women’s 400 Meter Medley Relay in a time of 4:17.28. Second place went to The Dolphins Portland Swimming, whose relay comprised of Jordan Ashmore, Kaitlyn Dobler, Lindsay Swail, and Alayna Connor swam a 4:18.95, to out touch the Santa Clara Swim Club’s team of Nicole Olivia, Avalon Shultz, Teng, and Jenny Ma by a hundredth of a second (4:18.96).

The Men’s 400 Meter Medley Relay resulted in a tie for first place. Maxwell Bottene, Stanley Wu, Andrei Minakov, and Michal Zyla teamed up for The Terrapins Swim while Molinari, Liang, Ho, and Maximilian Pokutta, swam for Palo Alto Stanford Aquatics. Both teams clocked in at 3:49.93. Third place went to Cole Stevens, Bang-Kai Chao, Jolen Griffin, and Christopher Peterson of Orinda Aquatics.

Please make correction. The name of the swim team is supposed to be Aaron Elhajj of BELLEVUE CLUB SWIM TEAM. Thank you.
