More Records Fall on Final Night of Masters Nationals

The 2018 U.S. Masters Swimming (USMS) National Championships meet concluded Sunday in Indianapolis.

Several age-group records fell on the final night of competition, including one performer who set a pair.

Night three results.

Clarke Mitchell earned the men’s 85-89 record in the 50 event in 38.14 and also set the mark in the 85-89 200 back in 3:18.52.

Katie Glenn set an age-group record in the 100 breaststroke, winning the 40-44 division in 1:02.70. The previous mark was held by Susan G Von Der Lippe (1:03.00) in 2008.

Dana Brown set the 70-74 record in the 100 breaststroke with a 1:25.63.

Melinda Mann was three hundredths of as second off her own record in the 60-64 100 breaststroke (1:16.58).

Steve West set a 45-49 record to win the 100 breaststroke in 55.69. Carlo Travaini set the mark in the 55-59 event (57.95).

Traci Grander set the 60-64 record in the 50 fly in 27.93. Robert Doud set the mark in the 95-99 event in 2:00.71.

David Sims set the mark in the 55-59 200 IM (2:02.25).

Katarzyna Wilk set the 25-29 mark in the 50 free in 22.45, topping the previous mark set by Madison Kennedy (22.62) in 2014.

Willard Lamb set the men’s 95-99 record in the 50 free, finishing in 42.23.

Laura Val set the mark in the 65-69 200 back, finishing in 2:23.88. Joy Ward set the 75-79 mark in 3:14.48.
