Kathleen Golding and Brooke Rubendall Show Dominance on Night Two of Atlanta Futures

Both Kathleen Golding of South Florida Aquatic Club and Brooke Rubendall of Marlins of Raleigh finished in the top three in multiple events at Atlanta Futures Championships tonight.

In the Women’s 200 Free, Golding dropped almost six seconds from her entry time to take first in 2:01.99. Dynamo Swim Club’s Tristen Ulett took second place in 2:02.32, followed quickly by Rubendall in 2:02.34.

William Tarvestad of Triton Swimming took first in the Men’s 200 Free in 1:52.00. Metro Aquatic Club of Miami’s Aitor Fungairino followed with a 1:52.10 and Dynamo Swim Club’s Michael Taylor finished third in 1:52.44.

Kaylee Wheeler of Cardinal Aquatics won the Women’s 100 Breast in a 1:11.00. She was followed by Danielle Dellatorre of Athens Bulldog Swim Club in 1:11.33 and Claire Donan of Triton Swimming in 1:11.98.

Top seed Joseph Hampel of Owensboro Marlin Swimming Inco took first in the Men’s 100 Breast in 1:04.07. Connor Blandford of Marlins of Raleigh finished second in 1:04.66 and Jack Dalmolin of Chattahoochee Gold Swim Club finished third in 1:04.73.

Talia Bates of Gator Swim Club took the Women’s 100 Fly in 1:01.10. She was followed by Makos Aquatics Club of Gainesville’s Alena Kraus in 1:01.45. Golding followed up her 200 free win with a 1:01.74 in the 100 fly to finish third.

Derek Cox of Dynamo Swim Club and Raphael Marcoux of Swim Fort Lauderdale tied for first in the Men’s 100 Fly, both touching at 55.46. Noah Henderson of Southwest Stars Swim Club finished in 55.61 to take third.

Marlins of Raleigh’s Sarah Giamber dominated the 400 IM in 4:54.61. Following in second place was her teammate Rubendall in 4:57.21. Alina Faunce of T2 Aquatics took third in 4:57.52.

In the Men’s 400 IM, Gregory Lombana of Marlins of Raleigh finished in 4:29.66 to win the race. Dynamo Swim Club’s Connor Lamastra took second in 4:30.80 and Cardinal Aquatics’ William Shultz finished third in 4:31.50.

The night concluded with the 4×100 Free Relay. Charlotte Hylinski, Katie Corbi, Chloe Harris, and Olwyn Bartis of SwimMAC Carolina took first in 3:52.75. They were followed by the Highlander Aquatic Club team of Abigail Burke, Paige Hamilton, Carley Lowe, and Andie Myers, who finished in 3:54.27. In third place was Gator Swim Club’s Kaitlyn Cronin, Talia Bates, Kirschtine Balbuena, and Georgia Bates in 3:54.54.

Swim Fort Lauderdale took the men’s race in 3:27.49, when Raphael Marcoux teamed up with Philippe Marcoux, Nikita Tretyakov, and Julien Pinon. SwimMAC Carolina’s team of John Shelstad, John Walker, Christopher Pfuhl, and Jeffrey Murray finished second in 3:29.95 and Metro Aquatic Club of Miami’s team of Fungairino, Alfred Pappe, Irvin Hoost, and Miguel Madeira took third in 3:30.42.
