Jessica Long Qualifies for 6th Paralympics (Full U.S. Team Roster)

Jessica Long is off to the Paralympics for the sixth time in her storied career, U.S. Para Swimming announced on Sunday.

The 29-time Paralympic medalist is one of 21 women and 12 men named by U.S. Para Swimming’s selection committee after its three-day trials in Minneapolis this week. Of that 33, 23 are repeat Paralympians.

“We are exceptionally proud of these athletes, who represent the best that Team USA has to offer,” Erin Popovich, director, U.S. Paralympics Swimming, said in a press release. “They have taken full advantage of the shortened, three-year Paralympic quad since Tokyo, and we are so excited to support them as they compete against the best in the world this summer.”

Mallory Weggeman, Evan Austin and McKenzie Coan are all set to compete in the fourth Paralympics. Between them, the trio has 13 combined medals, with Coan leading with six medals and four golds.

Colleen Young is competing at her third Paralympics, looking to add to her three medals. Elizabeth Marks, the reigning Olympic champion in the S6 100 back, is a five-time medalist heading to her third Paralympics. Hannah Aspden (a double gold winner in Tokyo), Lizzi Smith and Natalie Sims are all S9 swimmers who are making their third Paralympic Games.

Anastasia Pagonis, Gia Pergolini and Morgan Stickney are all looking to build on medals won in Tokyo at their second Paralympics. Among the 13 swimmers headed to Paris for their second Paralympics, that trio and David Abrahams, Leanne Smith, Ahalya Lettenberger, Julia Gaffney, Jamal Hill and Matthew Torres all won medals in Paris.

Among the notable debutants are Olivia Chambers and Noah Jaffe, who each won six medals at the 2023 World Championships. Christie Raleigh Crossley is a world champion making her Paralympic debut at age 37, while Morgan Ray went from an alternate in Tokyo to a Paris Paralympian.

“It would be a dream come true, it means a whole lot,” Chambers said. “When I first became visually impaired it was really difficult, so finding that something good can come out of it. I am just really excited for what this summer is going to bring.”
