Elizabeth Beisel Takes 200 Free Top Seed at Tennessee Invite

Olympians and Olympic hopefuls were in attendance again this morning on day two of the 2016 Tennessee Aquatics June Invite.

Claire Donahue clocked a 1:00.17 this morning in her 100 butterfly. The 2012 Olympian could very well be under a minute tonight. She was followed by Amanda Kendall with a 1:00.46 for second. Natalie Hinds took the third seed in 1:01.19.

Roles were reversed in this morning’s 200 freestyle as Elizabeth Beisel touched in 2:01.25, ahead of Megan Romano in 2:03.93. Kate Ziegler earned the third seed in 2:04.77.

In the men’s 100 butterfly, Luis Martinez led the field in 53.74. James Bretscher took second in 54.52, just ahead of Abbas Qali in 54.75.

Molly Hannis took a step towards sweeping this weekend’s breaststroke events with a 1:08.60 100 this morning. That was the top seed, over a second ahead of Alia Atkinson in 1:09.98. Jenny Wilson took third in 1:11.27.

Jorge Murillo Valdes qualified well ahead of the field in this morning’s 100 breaststroke. He stopped the clock in 1:01.46. Brad Craig finished in 1:03.13, and Michael Duderstadt finished third in 1:03.42.

Nicholas Sweetser stopped the clock in 1:52.66 to take the top seed in the men’s 200 freestyle. Alex Gray was second in 1:53.21 and Trey Freeman finished third in 1:53.29.

Emma Barksdale swam four seconds ahead of the field in the women’s 400 IM, finishing in 4:51.47. Hannah Kastigar finished second in 4:55.98 and Sonia Wang earned the third seed with a 4:56.70.

Sebastien Rousseau touched in 4:26.55 to take the men’s 400 IM top seed. Sam McHugh out touched Charlie Swanson 4:28.41 to 4:28.48 for the second seed.
