Boise State Claims Third Relay Victory on Second Day of Mountain West

On the second day of the Mountain West conference championship, the Boise State women continue to prove their dominance in the relays, winning the 200 free relay in a time of 1:28.93, which was also an NCAA A-cut. The team of Brittany Aoyama (22.79) Samantha Wicks (21.98) Katelyn Martin (21.86) and Abbey Sorensen (22.30). They were followed by San Diego State University who, with a time of 1:29.25, got their NCAA B-cut. The University of Wyoming was third in 1:29.96.

Sharae Zheng of Nevada claimed the gold in the 3-mtr dive, with a point total of 396.35. She was very closely followed by teammate Krysta Palmer who had 396.20 points. Ariana Milone was third with 344.10.

Genevieve Miller of Air Force followed her record breaking prelim swim from this morning by lowering her record again, posting a 4:40.15 to outdo her 4:40.30 from this morning. She just outtouched Emma Chard of Boise, who posted a time of 4:40.21, over 4 seconds faster than this morning. Riley Spitser of San Jose State was third in 4:44.95. All women were under the NCAA B-cut time.

Samantha Wicks of Boise won the 200 IM in an impressive swim, winning by over 2 seconds. She posted a time of 1:57.18, which upstaged Nevada’s Yawen Li who was second in 1:59.31. Teresa Baerens of Nevada was third in 1:59.40. All three were NCAA B-cuts.

Taylor Johnson won the 50 free in a time of 22.16. She was followed by Emily Ridout of Wyoming who was second in 22.42. Third came down to a tie between Katelyn Martin of Boise State and Morgan Ginnis of University of New Mexico who were both 22.46.
