NEW COMMIT: The University of Georgia has received a new verbal commitment for the fall of 2020 from Sloane Reinstein of Palo Alto, Calif.

A talented sprinter and backstroker, Reinstein does her club swimming with Palo Alto Stanford Aquatics and owns a pair of Winter Juniors standards. She earned a pair of best times at Juniors West in December before going on to earn gold in the 200 free at Far Westerns in April. Last summer, she raced to fourth in the 50m free at Santa Clara Futures.

A rising senior at Sacred Heart Prep High School, Reinstein placed 14th in the 200 free at the CIF State Championships during her junior year after taking sixth in that event at the Central Coast Sectional meet a week prior. During her sophomore season, she finished fourth in the 50 free and fifth in the 100 free at the sectional championships.

She told Swimming World:

“I am super excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at the University of Georgia! BIG thank you to my family, friends and coaches who have supported me along the way! I can not wait to be apart of such an amazing team and community. GO DAWGS!!”

Her best times include:

  • 50 free – 23.51
  • 100 free – 51.24
  • 200 free – 1:49.17
  • 100 back – 58.02
  • 200 back – 2:04.01

Reinstein, who had surgery for Thoracic Outlet Syndrome her sophomore year and was out for most of the season, said that she’s “super excited to be a part of a program that believes in me, see my potential and can help me obtain my goals in the sport of swimming.”
